Goals and Expectations: Each student will strive to be an independent learner, be a respectful citizen, and reach their full potential.
Religion: Students can list the four markers of the Church-one, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic. They will learn about the sacraments of initiation, healing, and commitment.
Reading: Students will further develop as a fluent reader, use strategies to decode passages, and make connections to self, other text, and the events in the world.
English: Students will form sentences, use punctuation, and write paragraphs. They will complete many writing projects using narrative, opinion, and explanatory genres.
Math: Students will work on addition and subtraction with and without regrouping, counting money, making change, and telling time. They will learn multiplication tables 0-12, division, geometry, fractions, decimals, customary and metric measurement, organizing data, graphs, and probability.
Science: Students will learn about plant and animal life, ecosystems, weather, energy, and forces. They will complete developmental STEM projects throughout the year.
Social Studies: Students will develop the ability to make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an independent world.
Special Activities: Students will have the real life experience the life cycle of a butterfly. Students will research and personify a historical person who has made a significant difference in the world. Students will earn special marble party incentives to celebrate their wonderful behavior.
